Well, we had a great run. Had Jesper Svensson played better on Sunday, we might have broken even—but it wasn’t to be. He finished 14th, just 3 shots outside the places.
That said, take nothing away from Kurt Kitayama. After barely making the cut, he went into overdrive, carding 20 birdies over the weekend and securing victory by one shot over Sam Stevens. Kitayama has competed on 10 different tours since turning professional, with his personal highlight being his win at the Arnold Palmer Invitational in 2023. This win at the 3M Open moves him to 53rd in the FedEx Cup standings, guaranteeing his entry into the Tour Championship
