This week’s tournanment is the Genesis Invitational hosted by Tiger Woods and marks the 3rd signature event of the year. This means elevated Fedex cup points, a $3.6m winners cheque and a $20,000,000 purse. Tiger was due to tee it up but last weeks passing of his mother Kultida has meant his withdrawal. Tiger in a recent press release said he wasn’t ready to play, which is understandable.
The Genesis as many of you now is normally played at the Riveira Country Club “The Riv” which has been its home for many years. Its famous for having many members from the Hollywood royalty of yesteryear including Humphrey Bogart, Dean Martin and Walt Disney.
The recent horrific wild fires remarkably left The Riv unscathed but the same cannot be said of the surrounding area. As such, this year the tournament has been moved to Torrey Pines South course which only recently played host the Farmers Insurance Open tournament 3 weeks ago. Recent form and course form plays heavily in our predictions this week.
