The American Express yielded a small profit, albeit with three of our six picks making the top 20, it was slightly frustrating that it didn’t make a bigger impact on the P&L. The West Coast Swing is now in full flow and the next stop is in San Diego as Torrey Pines plays host to the Farmers. It’s a well established PGA Tour Venue, having been granted the occasional US Open, when the course set up has tended to be about as challenging as they come. This week it’ll play a little easier, but long, accurate driving will certainly be helpful (albeit previous winners have not been restricted to bombers), coupled with the ability to navigate the tricky poa-annua greens.

Torrey Pines Golf Course — South & North Courses
Torrey Pines has hosted the event since 1968 and remains one of the most iconic stops on the PGA Tour. Players compete on both courses over the first two rounds before the weekend shifts exclusively to the South Course.
South Course (Weekend Host)
Par: 72 Yardage: ~7,765 yards (one of the longest on Tour)
Style: Classical, coastal championship layout
Characteristics: Narrow fairways framed by thick Kikuyu rough, with small & firm Poa annua greens
North Course
Par: 72 Yardage: ~7,258 yards
Characteristics: More scoreable than the South, it has larger greens and wider landing areas. Essential for players to go low here before the weekend grind
