Hello Form Golfers,
We took a little hiatus after the Fedex cup to recharge the batteries. Behind the scenes we are planning some improvements for next year (more to follow). We did manage to predict top points scorer at the Ryder but haven’t added that to our performance figures. We will deliver 3 or 4 tournaments before the end of the year. There are a few more but they or more exhibition matches are and not great to analyse.

Matt McCarty defended his title in style at the 2025 Bank of Utah Championship, mastering Black Desert Resort’s demanding layout with precision and poise. His back-to-back victories highlight the kind of game this course rewards: aggressive scoring balanced by strategic control.
The 2025 Bank of Utah Championship, part of the PGA Tour’s FedExCup Fall series, returned to the striking desert backdrop of Black Desert Resort in Ivins, Utah, a course that’s quickly earning a reputation for dramatic finishes and low scoring. Matt McCarty, who won the inaugural edition last year, finished with a dominant 23-under-par performance, edging out Stephan Jaeger by three shots. McCarty’s win not only secured him a hefty $1.35 million purse but also solidified his PGA Tour status through 2026PGA TOUR.
The course at Black Desert Resort is a visual spectacle, carved into the red rock terrain of southern Utah. It features wide fairways, strategically placed bunkers, and undulating greens that demand precision on approach shots. While it allows for aggressive play off the tee, success here hinges on dialed-in iron play and confident putting. Players who can control spin and read subtle breaks on the greens tend to thrive.
Typical weather conditions during the tournament week are dry and warm, with daytime highs often reaching the low 30s°C (mid-80s°F). The thin desert air and firm fairways contribute to longer drives, but swirling afternoon winds can complicate club selection and shot shaping—especially on exposed holes.
Last year’s leaderboard was stacked with low scores, with Lucas Glover, Kevin Streelman, and Matti Schmid all finishing within five shots of the lead. The course clearly rewards those who can go low, but it also punishes lapses in focus—especially around the greens.
In summary, the Bank of Utah Championship is quickly becoming a fan favourite for its stunning setting and scoring drama. With McCarty now a two-time champion, the event has its first storyline of dominance—and sets the stage for future rivalries in the desert. Players looking to contend here must bring a full arsenal: length, touch, and mental toughness.
